This software has been made available as a courtesy to our readers. To the best of our knowledge, this software is correct. | BEFORE RUNNING SOFTWARE |
| The USB cable must be plugged in prior to running this software for proper COM port selection. |
| CREATE AN INITIAL IMAGE |
| The software above will not add additional features
to UV-82 and UV-82X radios. Before you start, you need to let the software know which model you are programming. This is done by creating an initial template by selecting Program / Read from Radio. This image should also be saved should a Recovery ever be needed in the future. |
| ADDITIONAL FEATURES |
| The Baofeng
UV-82C includes 2 features not found in the standard UV-82. 1) The ability to lock the radio into the Channel Mode Only. This prevents field programming without required software. 2) PTT Synchronization Both top and bottom of PTT switch will activate the currently selected channel in the LCD. The displayed channel can still be switched from Upper to Lower by pressing the EXIT/AB button. |
| FEATURE ACTIVATION |
| Select Edit/Optional Features tab New options are located in lower right corner of page. VFO/MR En Leaving unchecked prevents field programming. Selecting this feature allows entering the VFO mode (Press and Hold Menu during PowerOn) S_PTT_En Selecting this feature syncs PTT to function as one button. |
