Programming Memories Manually
 
Example below will give you an idea for how the keypad programming works. Once you are familiar with the flow of the keypad, other options can be added using the same technique.
 
This example demonstrates programming a repeater frequency with:
 
Frequency   146.700MHz
Repeater with offset   - 0.600
CTCSS transmit code   123.0 Hz
Channel Name
Saving the channel   99
 
 
(Select Display A)
     Press  A FUN
     Press  * BAND  to select Upper Display Only
 
 
(Set radio to VFO mode)
     Press  D ESC/M   (no channel # appears on right)
 
 
(Enter Frequency)
     1 4 6 7 0 0   or  1 4 6 7 #
 
 
(Select Offset Amount) Not necessary if simplex channel
     Press  A FUN  then  8 SET
     Press  B / C  to select OFFSET  (Menu 10)
     Press  A FUN 
     Press  B / C   to select the amount of offset.
     Press  A FUNC 
     Press  D ESC  to confirm
 
 
(Select Offset Direction)
     Press  A FUN  then  4 +/-  until "-" appears on LCD
     Press  D ESC  to confirm
     Press  D ESC  to return
 
 
(Enter Transmit CTCSS Tone)
     Press  A FUN  then  8 SET
     Press  B / C   to select  T-CDC  (Menu 1)
     Press  1  to select Tone Group
     Press  A FUN 
     Press  B / C   to select desired tone frequency (123.0)
     Press  D ESC  to confirm
 
 
(Enter Channel Name)
     Press  A FUNC  then  8 SET
     Press  B / C   to select  NAME  (Menu 11)
          First character will start flashing
     Rotate channel know to select desired character
     Press
 1 FM  to move cursor to the right
     Press  4 +/-  to move cursor to the  left
     Press  D ESC  to confirm
 
 
(Store Memory Channel)
     Press  A FUN  then  C
     Press  B / C   to select desired channel number (99)
     Press  A FUN
     Press and HOLD  C   until a Double Beep is heard
 
 
Confirm by pressing D ESC to return to channel mode.
Type in  0 9 9  to view the new channel.
